Can anyone think of a vehicle(s) that have lasted more than one generation, and through redesigns and facelifts has never looked bad? Is there such a thing?
Of course since I seem to be the only person here that likes the pre-facelift 996, the 911 is the only car in my opinion that comes to mind.

VW GTI...
Even while the MkIII and MKIV weren’t the greatest
, they still looked nice....

And the new one is good too.

MKIV is my favorite, MKV is ugly.

We’ll have to wait and see what the G20 M3 looks like. But you’re not wrong, for now....

I agree with you on the Porsche 911, even the much hated 996. When that generation came out I thought it looked cool, of course it hasn’t aged particular well in my eyes, but overall still good looking.
I am amazed on how attractive the 993 and 991, both models that came before and after it still look so good. I thank Singer for helping me realize how pre-74 “style” with those below headlight mounted turn signals are actually attractive in their own right.
I remember back in the 80s and 90s, people were chopping up front ends of pre-74 cars to put on the post 74 style front bumper / headlight look. It’s was a common practice that is downright heresy today .

To me, the Buick Riveria always looked great.
(Well, if not outright beautiful, it was
still better than other cars in that generation.) I even like the early 90s version:

I like the 996.1 and the 996.2. I would be happy to own either one. I love the look of the 996.1 GT3 in particular.
The only 911's I don’t like the look of are the targas and the convertibles. They do nothing for me

I think Porsche 911's manage it, regardless of whether people disagree on a specific headlight. There will always be people who don’t like something on everything car. I just think the 911's aren’t very adventurous in how they do it.
I’d say the Mustang and Corvette manage it. Maybe not in a timeless looks kind of way. But each generation perfectly reflect the popular styles of their time . Are those styles always the most pleasing? Of course not. Lots of people don’t like the C4 for example, but there’s no denying it’s got all the right elements of an 80's sportscar.

i was thinking the 911, but in reverse, as in a car that has never looked good consistently through all its generations. I know that’s a very unpopular opinion around here, though.

The G20 is going to be a pretty car (in the right color) and will be ridiculously fast. I also wouldn't rule out the manual on the M3 yet either.

I’ve driven a DSG Fahrenheit Edition and it was pretty damn good. I almost traded a 325ix for a regular one once, I like them but don't love the looks.

Corvette. Each generation does a good job exemplifying the time period in which it existed too. At least in my youthful opinion having only lived through 4 of the 7 generations.

Corvette. Although since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, any vehicle could meet this criteria.

The first one looks good, the second one looks decent. After that things go bad quickly. But then what do I know? https://oppositelock.kinja.com/1829519072
